Experience

Drew Powers is a Partner in the firm’s Georgia Foreclosure and Title Clearance Group. Ms. Powers has extensive knowledge of residential real estate law, with a special focus on creditors’ rights and Georgia foreclosure and eviction law. Ms. Powers is an authority on the Georgia eviction and foreclosure processes; she has also handled a wide-range of ancillary matters related to the representation of lenders and government sponsored entities, including but not limited to excess proceeds, third party sales, tax sale issues, post-sale eviction litigation, sale rescissions, compliance issues, FDCPA and RESPA disputes, bankruptcy matters, and title clearance issues. Ms. Powers’ broad range of experience enables her to deliver the firm’s client significant expertise and first-rate customer service.  

Ms. Powers originally joined the firm in January, 2011. After a brief sabbatical with a large international law firm representing a global telecommunications provider in all aspects of its commercial leasing endeavors, Ms. Powers rejoined the firm in July, 2015.

Education and Admissions

Ms. Powers graduated from Georgia State University College of Law in 2010. She received her undergraduate degree from Washington and Lee University in 2002 and a Masters Degree in Education from University of Staten Island as part of the New York City Teaching Fellows Program in 2004. She joined McCalla Raymer Leibert Pierce, LLC as an Associate in January, 2011 in the firm’s eviction group. She became a Senior Associate in the firm’s eviction group in 2013 and a Managing Attorney in the firm’s litigation and trial practice group in 2014.  After a brief sabbatical with a large international law firm representing a global telecommunications provider in all aspects of its commercial leasing endeavors, Ms. Powers rejoined the firm as a Partner in July, 2015.
