The SSRS Developer (Reporting Services Developer) position requires the ability to read and write complex queries, ability to create database objects (tables, views, stored procedures, user-defined functions) and modify existing reporting content. To perform this job successfully, an individual would need to be able to understand complex business processes, gather requirements, work efficiently and verify their results.


  • Compile user requirements and specifications for reports
  • Design, create and test SQL reports using SSRS
  • Validate report functionality with internal staff/end users
  • Respond to users to troubleshoot and/or improve existing reports
  • Analyze and troubleshoot issues with SQL stored procedures, functions, views
  • Create custom queries for ad hoc Data Requests
  • Perform other such related functions as may be required by the Manager of Application Support


This job does not require supervisory responsibilities


  • Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university; or equivalent training, education and experience
  • At least 2 years’ experience in related field


  • 5+ years development experience with Microsoft Reporting Services (SSRS) 2012 or higher
  • SQL Server 2012+, SQL Stored Procedures, Database Design and Development, Performance Tuning
  • Outstanding analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience performing troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, application design, and solution development for large-scale web applications.
  • Ability to work independently and complete projects with minimal supervision.
  • Sound understanding of coding and development processes.
  • High attention to detail including precise and effective communication and proven ability to manage multiple, competing priorities simultaneously
  • Are comfortable with talking to end users
  • Are results driven and can lead/drive solutions
